As a Presbyterian church, we are governed by a session of elders (teaching and ruling elders), together with deacons, who lead in organizing congregational care.
After having spent his early years as a missionary kid in Austria, Fix earned his undergraduate degree in international business and finance from Grove City College in 2002. He then worked as a software support technician in congressional offices on Capitol Hill before moving with his wife, Rachel, to Escondido, CA, in 2004 to attend Westminster Seminary California. Upon graduating with his Master of Divinity in 2007, he accepted a call to be assistant pastor at Reformed Presbyterian Church of Bowie, where he was ordained as a teaching elder in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). After serving as assistant and associate pastor for ten years (2007-2017), the congregation called him as senior pastor in 2018, which is the role in which he continues to serve.
Fix earned his Ph.D. in Ancient Near Eastern Languages and Literatures at Catholic University of America in 2020 (“The Semantics of a Semitic Ventive in Cognitive Perspective: Akkadian Ventive Construals Based on Lexical Verb Types”), and teaches on an adjunct basis at Westminster Theological Seminary, Reformed Theological Seminary, and Faith Theological Seminary. He has published a commentary on 1-2 Samuel for The Gospel Coalition Bible Commentary as well as articles for Modern Reformation. His current writing projects include editing his dissertation for publication, editing and republishing John Thomson’s Explication of the Shorter Catechism (1749) with Westminster Seminary Press, and writing commentaries on 1-2 Chronicles for Crossway.
Fix is passionate about the Gospel of Grace in the cross of Jesus Christ, and loves to see how God uses his Word to bring all manner of people into his kingdom, growing them in grace and nourishing their faith. He lives in Bowie with his wife, Rachel, and their four children, Rock, Louisa, Gigi, and Mac.
Chris grew up in San Diego, California, and earned his undergraduate degree in history from Thomas Edison State University in 2012. He worked for eight years as an insurance broker in the company’s commercial property and casualty division, both in San Diego and Hawaii, before attending Westminster Seminary California in Escondido. While attending Trinity Presbyterian Church San Diego, he met his wife, Eshani. After graduating with his Master of Divinity in May 2022, he accepted a call to be the assistant pastor at Reformed Presbyterian Church of Bowie, where he was ordained as a teaching elder in the PCA.
Chris and Eshani live in Bowie with their son, Isaiah.
